Preston Housing Competition
Collaborating with Conran & Partners Architects, the Frank Whittle Partnership and Pettit Singleton Associates, Feria Urbanism submitted an entry for this RIBA International Design Competition to develop innovative design proposals for a social housing development in the centre of Preston.
The project was to act as an exemplar for future social housing developments in the city and elsewhere. Our team was one of the final four short listed from 74 first stage entries, received from Japan, Hong Kong, Italy, Greece, Portugal, France, Serbia, and the Netherlands. The selection panel was impressed by the way the Feria Urbanism team had demonstrated how a high quality residential intervention in this specific location could have a positive “ripple effect" and impact upon the wider neighbourhood, contributing to a city centre renewal strategy.
