Feria Urbanism has been appointed by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to prepare an urban design framework for the town.

The essential purpose of the project is to carry out a contextual survey and analysis of Basingstoke town, and provide design guidance to underpin the Local Plan update. The study will be important in informing the assessment of the sites under consideration for housing and employment land allocation, to be included within the Local Plan update.

We shall also be looking at existing design policies and advising on a review and refresh of these policies to support the potential for higher density development across the town, both in the potential new expansion areas and a possible intensification of existing areas.

Our team has experience of other urban strategies, developed for places as diverse as Hemel Hempstead, Weymouth, Halesworth, Liverpool, Bexleyheath, and Preston. If you wish to know more about these other urban strategy projects, please get in touch.
