For the 2015 Arts by the Sea festival, Antonia Morgan of the Feria Urbanism team was invited to work alongside Creatmosphere, an internationally acclaimed artistic studio that focuses on the exploration of light and its interplay with art, architecture, place and audience.
Using the River Bourne as inspiration, the work involved the creation of a new light installation especially for the festival. During the daytime, Antonia and the Creatmosphere team worked with families and children to create light floating objects, which were launched later that day to create a river of light that builds throughout the night.
The event was a huge success with hundreds of people taking part, and quite a few getting wet! We are always fascinated by lighting designs in urban areas and we hope to collaborate again soon with the Creatmosphere team.
The Feria Urbanism team has produced other urban strategy reports for Bournemouth, Hemel Hempstead, Weymouth, Halesworth, Liverpool, Bexleyheath and Preston. If you wish to know more about these other urban strategy projects, please get in touch.
