Feria Urbanism has been appointed by Abingdon-on-Thames Town Council to provide support for their neighbourhood plan project.
The town council has recently committed to produce a neighbourhood plan to guide the development of the town over the next decade or more. The plan will seek to positively address a range of issues. Our extensive experience of preparing neighbourhood plans, working alongside the local community, led to our team being appointed following a competitive tender process.
Our work will involve providing the client group with a better understanding of what a neighbourhood plan can and cannot do in terms of regulating the built environment and the statutory processes that need to be adhered to. We shall also provide skills support as they begin to assemble their steering group together with mapping assistance as they undertake a strategic place audit.
Due to the restrictions on movement and social gatherings imposed during the Covid-19 public health crisis, much of this early phase of work is now being shifted to online platforms and video conferencing.
The Feria Urbanism team has been involved in other neighbourhood plans in a series of towns and villages including Loose, Hawkhurst, Lewes, Ticehurst, Staplehurst and Faversham. The team has also worked with a neighbourhood forum in Bristol. If you wish to know more about these other neighbourhood plan projects, please get in touch.
